For all you disbelievers, there actually was a Sunday Recovery Ride today.
Perry, the jolly Swagman, joined us. Bruce made a quick appraisal of the situation when he heard the ride was to Crescent Beach and realized he had chosen wisely for his first group ride. Also, on the ride were the father and son combination of Team Denton. The Brothers Surkan not to be confused with The Brothers Karamazov were in a jovial mood. Pat B. had his phone on vibrate in case he got a key call. Gary, no I am not with that James Gang, was checking that everyone was in the small ring. Tom, aka Directeur Sportif of Team F Troop, had dried off enough from his Saturday adventure. The CPP Cycling Team was well represented. We did meet Brian, I know I forgot something, out on the highway.
You will be sorry you didn’t attend as the group rode out to Crescent Beach in the small chain rings and cruised through The Tour De Trout Creek with only a token sprint at the Beach sprint.
On the return leg, the group split as some riders wanted to make sure they got a scone at the coffee shop.
The remaining riders were entertained while Des fixed Tom’s flat. Not only did Tom pick up a huge piece of metal but also he earned his N plate.
Once again, the small ring was the order of the day with the second token sprint at Red Wing being taken by Pat who locked up the Green Jersey points for the ride.
Next group ride is Wednesday leaving Smith and Co at 9 am.
Hope to see you there.
Poor Diablo!
