Thrown in the mix was a combination of The A Team, The F Troop and some relative new comers so the tempo out to Crescent Beach was pleasant. As noted in a previous post, I thought a landscape photo would be in order but these cyclists magically appeared in the photo.
The usual sprint at Crescent Beach should have been followed by the climb up Peach Orchard but someone thought the less than smooth pavement of Switchback Road would be a nice treat.
Fortunately only one flat was inflicted and as I passed by the scene it appeared that Brian and Des had plenty of free advice on how to change it.
I have to say that, although the F Troop rides may lack some verbal communication, this ride led by the A Team even lacked organization. With discussions about gravel roads and Marron Valley, we still ended up on the usual route to Camp Boyle.
After what seemed like enough time to have a three course lunch break, the peleton started the return from The Camp. Taking phones of a passing peleton with a cell phone with the sun at your back is not the ideal photographic experience. Landscape photos are looking like the go.
When we eventually hit Summerland, the A Team decided another route to try which involved the descent on Canyon View. Since I am working on my time trial skills, I opted for an alternative route. Seems the other group, even got a “new” version of how to get to Canyon View.
Back at the coffee shop for some recovery chocolate milk and coffee while making plans to for the epic Tom and Doug’s Excellent Adventure – The Sequel (key phrase is The Sequel!!). That ride goes Saturday from Cherry Lane at 6:45 am with a return time to allow attendance at Sybilla and Harold's soiree.
Hope to see you there.
