A kinder gentler ride to Apex Ranch except for three guys who were misinformed that there was an iced mocachino for the first to the top was followed by some of the best descending to Yellow Lake.

Those in the attack decided to head home while the F Troop continued on to Keremeos and beyond.
It was a little disappointing that the crowd was absent today. Must have been a conflict with the Peach Festival Parade, which we missed because we added an extra loop today down to Becks Road. The extra loop gave us a chance to see our tax dollars at work and enjoy turning into a headwind to get to The Bear.
The rest stop at The Bear allowed an opportunity to discuss the return voyage. By a decisive majority it was decided to go back up Green Mountain Rd.
We noticed a few of the 8 am crew heading towards Keremeos on our way to Grn Mtn Rd. Not sure if they added in the extra loop but they may have opted for a reverse Richter with the huge tailwind thru Cawston.
A regrouping at Apex Ranch for the descent to town was followed by some spirited pace line riding with some excellent bike handling skills by Mary when she did her cross bike routine when the pedestrians crossed in front.
After bobbing and weaving through the post parade traffic, we arrived at the coffee shop where we met a second 8 am group who claimed to have rode over and back to Yellow Lake.
There is a planned “recovery ride” tomorrow leaving Smith and Co at 9 am. Hope to see you there.
